Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Why not just use billable hours?

Rather than haggle about scope creep or nitpick about minutes billed, we use a weekly bandwidth system.

Your project lead is holding space for your organization - in their calendar, heart and mind.

The hands-on-keyboard stuff is usually the easy part. Sometimes the best process design and solutioning strikes in the shower, walking the dog, or even at 2am!

We measure quality not by the number of widgets we ship, but by the thoughtfulness and long-term adaptability of our deliverables. We’ve constructed our packages to right-size the complexity, effort, and time required to best serve your current needs.

  • Who will be running my project?

As a boutique agency, we have the luxury of selecting exceptionally talented and emotionally intelligent RevOps professionals.

Everyone at Activate the Magic is spectacular, but project leading is especially complex.

We have an elite handful of director and executive-level magicians who can deeply grasp the context of your revenue blockers, discern priorities, and -most importanty- tell you when something is a bad idea.

Our current project leads are Jacki Leahy, Saul Garcia, Nick Thomas and Alana Zimmer.

  • Are you good with the technical stuff?

    Oh boy are we!

Our head of client delivery is Sean Murphy, who trained under Jacki's mentor Vinny Poliseno while working at the legendary go-to-market analytics firm scaleMatters for 3 years.

Sean has a decade of experience in Salesforce and is a lethal weapon when it comes to architecture, integrations and automations.

Jacki Leahy had the very cool opportunity to be a question writer for the most recent Salesforce Advanced Admin certification exam, and Alana Zimmer is our resident HubSpot subject matter expert.

  • How do you run projects?

Something funny happens with scoping RevOps projects - it’s like a home renovation when you open up a seemingly benign wall to find termites!

So insteed, we use an agile methodology with two components:

The Relationship Container - a weekly sync meeting where your Project Lead will update you on progress, align on the following week’s work, and unblock any snags. Throughout the week, your project lead will be available for ad-hoc requests (and fire drills).

The Delivery Container - for each technical initiative, our lead solutions architect oversees a 5-step process executed in two-week sprints.

When you onboard, we will have a kickoff meeting where we align on a roadmap. Each quarter we’ll take a step back and assess the biggest upcoming rocks.

  • Who exactly will be doing the hands-on work?

At Activate the Magic, collaboration is a core value! We ensure that each advisor is paired with projects that align with their specific areas of passion and expertise. This is a crucial element of our alchemy!

Your project lead will introduce you to a handful of RevOps specialists via Slack, weekly syncs, and requirement gathering sessions.

Everyone touching your systems is officially part of Activate the Magic and located in North America.

While utilizing offshore resources is an excellent way to scale capacity and reduce margins, we prefer to keep all the fun for ourselves.

  • What happens if my project lead leaves or is out sick?

Since curiosity and collaboration is in our DNA, we can’t help but play team and have a working knowledge of what’s going on with each other’s projects.

Your lead will communicate ahead of time any planned absences, and Dax Lehman, our Lead RevOps Analyst, will hold down the fort for sick days.

In the event they snag an even cooler role elsewhere (yay!) - we have a structured internal hand-off process to minimize the impact on your experience and absorb the cost of knowledge transfer.

This is admittedly one of the hardest things about building a RevOps agency - particularly when you’re intentionally grooming world class talent.

  • Can we do a trial project or purchase a few hours?

Our smallest engagement is a Small package for 1 month ($4,500).

Our vision is be as approachable and easy to work with as possible, but in order to build a healthy business we do stick with our pricing and packaging model.

  • Do you have any case studies or work samples?

Absolutely! We’re workig on a showcase page, and in the meantime we can match you with a customer reference or anonymize a deliverable for you.
